Installation Instructions

To install the Pressure Relief Valve (PRV), first apply thread sealant or 5 wraps of PTFE thread tape to the exposed threads. Hand tighten the PRV to the 3/4” port on the side of the hot water valve. Use a wrench to tighten the PRV until the discharge port is facing downward. Do not tighten more than 2 turns past hand tight.

Wrap the hot water outlet with at least 5 wraps of PTFE thread tape, then connect the union fitting with the hot water outlet. Do not remove the union nut, just tighten it with the lower part of the hot water valve. Align the hot water drain to the desired position and tighten the union assembly to the hot water valve with approximately 15 foot-pounds of torque.

Repeat step 2 for the cold water valve. Use the blue drain handle to connect the cold water inlet on the tankless water heater. Connect the inlet on the cold water valve to the main water supply source and the outlet on the hot water valve to the hot water plumbing system.
Cold Water Valve
The blue cold water valve controls the water entering the water heater. Without this valve, the flow cannot be stopped during servicing of the pipe or water heater.
Hot Water Valve
The red hot water valve controls the flow of heated water out of the water heater. Without this valve, there is no way to stop the hot water flow during pipe or water heater servicing.
Pressure Relief Valve
The pressure relief valve allows steam from heated water to release pressure and protect the water heater. Without this valve, excessive steam pressure can damage the water heater.
